Climbing Black Mesa, Oklahoma |
 Shortly after I started heading down off the Black Mesa plateau, I paused to take this panoramic photograph of the wide valley at the foot of the mesa. I’d taken a similar photograph on my way up, but now the entire valley and the mesas in the distance were all bathed in bright sunshine. As a result, it was very hot when I hiked the last two miles across the plains on my way back to the trailhead. |
