Black Mountain, Kentucky

I entered Kentucky at 11:50 am on Monday, 2 November 2015. (In what is, in effect, a political scientist's footnote, I should point out that the Governor, Steven Beshear, was welcoming me to the state very near the end of his time in office: the next day was gubernatorial election day in Kentucky and because Beshear had already served eight years – two full terms – as Governor, term limits meant he was ineligible to stand again. Beshear's successor, Matt Bevin, was elected on 3 November and took office the following month.)
