 This map (from a display outside the rangers’ station in Bishop, California) shows where we were, and where we were going. From the junction of US highway 6 and Nevada state highway 264, on Saturday afternoon, 14 July, we drove south-west to Benton and then south to Bishop. The following morning we returned to the junction, turned right and headed south-east for 8 miles / 12.8 kms, until we reached the Trail Canyon road turn-off. |
