Camino de Santiago |
 Day 9 (Saturday, 2 October 2010) – Azofra to Grañón (21.7 kms): I took this photo while we were sitting at a sidewalk café in Santo Domingo de la Calzada to illustrate something that interested Heather and me while we were in Spain – namely, the high proportion of female smokers. World Bank statistics say it’s 27 percent – sadly, that’s an even higher proportion than in New Zealand, the UK, and the USA (and considerably higher than the rate in Australia). |
