 Day 22 (Friday, 15 October 2010) – Sarria to Portomarín (21.5 kms): When the Rio Miño was dammed in the mid-1950s, San Nicolas – the town's Romanesque-style 12th-century church – was taken down and re-assembled stone by numbered stone at the edge of the new town's Plaza Mayor. It's a simple if rather severe-looking edifice (“fortress-like” is The Lonely Planet's description). |
