 Evan and Simon brought up the rear, but soon caught up with Heather and me. We reached the top of Charles Mound at 11:45 am on Saturday, 2 September 2017. It had taken us 35 minutes to walk roughly one-and-half miles from the farm gate to Illinois’ highpoint, which I thought was a pretty good rate of ascent for a three-year-old. |
