 History: … the French raiders took the exquisitely carved prow of the waka back to France as bounty, and today it can be seen in the Rouen Museum, roughly 140 kilometres north-west of Paris. As a result, this large framed print of a photograph of the canoe’s prow is also in the Hotel Chathams and hangs beside Roger Morris’ painting of the Jean Bart. |
