 Life on the Chathams: The 2018 New Zealand census showed that the population of the Chatham Islands was 663 – about 50 of whom lived on Pitt Island, while the rest were on Chatham Island. Farming, fishing, and tourism are among the mainstays of island life. There are lots of lush green pastures on the islands that are especially suitable for sheep farming. |
