I also photographed this wild turkey, and – a minute later – discovered the cause of the traffic jam: there was a small black bear foraging fifty yards or so above the road, and the traffic had been brought to a standstill by rubberneckers! Unfortunately, however, National Park rangers had arrived on the scene and were not letting people stop, so I was unable to contribute to the traffic snarl-up, and – having finally seen a bear on the slopes of a US state highpoint – I was unable to photograph it: darn, darn, darn! |
