Climbing Clingmans Dome, Tennessee |
On 30 October 2015, I hiked a portion of the Appalachian Trail in order to reach the summit of Clingmans Dome, the highest mountain in Tennessee. Clingmans Dome is 6,643 feet / 2,025 metres above sea-level, and the mountain is the 17th highest of the fifty US state highpoints. Clingmans Dome was the 34th US state highpoint that I climbed, hiked up, or visited. |
