 Looking north from the top of the observation tower on Clingmans Dome. The dead trees that are visible in this picture (as, indeed, they are in all the photos I took from the top of Clingmans Dome) are, at least in part, a result of increased levels of air pollution and acid rain in the eastern states of the USA. |
