From the trailhead, which is on the western side of Mt Washington Road and is actually in Massachusetts, the trail to the Connecticut state highpoint initially heads though part of Massachusetts. It then wends its way back into Connecticut and up Round Mountain. The trail crosses into Massachusetts again and skirts the summit of Mt Frissell before it finally goes back into Connecticut and reaches the highest point in the state. |
