Climbing Connecticut’s highpoint
– the south shoulder of Mt Frissell

On 23 August 2013, I climbed Mt Frissell. Although Mt Frissell is in Massachusetts, the highest point in the state of Connecticut is on the south shoulder of the mountain, and – not surprisingly – reaching it was my primary goal. Connecticut’s highpoint is 2,380 feet / 725 metres above sea-level. It’s the 36th highest of America’s 50 state highpoints, and it was the 19th that I'd either climbed or visited.
