Wednesday, 4 January 2006 – From Triabunna to Swansea: My destination for the day – Swansea, which was first settled in the 1820s and is, by Australian standards, quite old. Indeed, Swansea was the principal town in Glamorgan, which – prior to its abolition as a Tasmanian local government entity – used to boast that it was “the oldest rural municipality in Australia.”
