Climbing Granite Peak

After successfully climbing Gannett Peak, I returned to Jackson, Wyoming, on Thursday evening, 20 July 2006, and the very next day headed north to Montana in order to try to climb Granite Peak, the state’s highest mountain. The name of the state stems from the Spanish word, Montaña, which means mountain, and the state’s motto, Oro y plata (which can be seen on the flag) is Spanish for gold and silver.
