Climbing Granite Peak

On Sunday, 23 July 2006, Dan and Jane (plus Madison) returned to Helena, while I drove to Red Lodge, Montana, via the Beartooth Pass. The top of the pass is 10,947 feet / 3,337 metres above sea-level. The road is closed throughout the winter, but at the height of the summer it’s a popular destination, particularly for motor-cyclists. This is a photo looking west, back down the pass towards Long Lake and Little Bear Lake.
