At 3:15 pm we reached a spot about 10,700 feet / 3,261 metres above sea-level on Froze-to-Death Plateau where we pitched our tents. In a little less than six hours, we’d carried heavy packs about six miles or ten kilometres and climbed more than 4,000 feet / 1,219 metres; we were ready to stop. Jeff, Scott, and I shared one tent (which Jeff is zipping up in this photo). |
