Coming down Granite Peak’s final spire was the easy part of the descent. We got back to the snow bridge at 12:45 pm (it had taken us just under two hours to get down to it compared with the just over two hours that it took us to get up to the summit from it). However, after that we had to contend with the talus fields. In this picture, Jeff (left) and Scott are making their way carefully and gingerly down and through the mass of boulders towards the saddle separating Granite Peak and Tempest Mountain. |
