Hawkeye Point, Iowa |
 At Hawkeye Point, from left to right, there’s an old barn which is now a walk-through museum, a silo, a picnic table and shelter, and a flagpole. The highpoint gets its name from the phrase, “the Hawkeye State”, which is a popular and well-known nickname for Iowa. Originally, the term probably referred to a Native American chief named Black Hawk. |
