 ... and I finally reached the summit of the mountain shortly before 6:20 am on Monday, 6 July 2009. It was wonderful to reach the top of Mt Hood on my second attempt. What is more, it was not only twelve years to the day since I'd got to the top of North America's highest mountain, Mt McKinley / Denali, but it was also my cousin Jane's birthday.
