Eric setting out across the meadow (which I assume is the end of an Arizona Snowbowl ski-field run) at the start of our hike. The Humphreys Trail starts at 9,500 feet / 2,896 metres above sea-level, so we had 3,133 feet / 955 metres and 4.8 miles still to go to reach the summit.
