Climbing Mt Katahdin |
 As I drove along Maine state highway 157, the cloud-covered ramparts of Mt Katahdin were visible in the distance (about 25 miles / 40 kilometres away as the crow flies). The mountain was given its name by Penobscot Indians for good reason: Katahdin means “the greatest mountain” and it certainly is the greatest mountain in Maine. |
