Climbing Kings Peak

Eric Hodge at the top of Kings Peak – 13,534 feet / 4,125 metres above sea-level – the highest mountain in Utah. Eric's indicating it was the fourth US state highpoint he'd climbed. The three highpoints Eric had previously climbed were Mt Hood (Oregon, 2007 and 2009), Mt Rainier (Washington, 2007), and Mt Elbert (Colorado, 2009). On the left-hand side of the picture, the Henry's Fork Basin is visible, north of Kings Peak. The small blue triangle that can be seen to the right of Eric's lower hand was a Utah flag, utterly limp in the windless conditions we encountered at the summit of Kings Peak (and a complete contrast with the weather we'd experienced at the start of the day and the previous evening).
