An attempt on Lobuje East, 1991 |
 Thursday, 24 October 1991 – Our Lobuje East summit attempt: Indeed, the moonlight was so bright that Diane, who had decided the previous evening that she was not going to be part of the summit attempt, took this telephoto picture of the summit of Lobuje East while the rest of us were climbing. It looks as though this photograph was taken in daylight, but – as can be seen especially in the top left-hand corner – the stars were out and the mountain was, in fact, bathed in moonlight. |
