The Milford Track

The Sutherland Falls – possibly the best-known falls in New Zealand – are situated at the head of the Arthur river valley. They are 580 metres / 1,904 feet tall. In order to get close to the foot of the Sutherland Falls, you have to walk southwest from a spot near Quintin Lodge (the guided walkers’ final hut) for roughly 45 minutes. Needless to say, making the side-trip was well worth it.
