 On Wednesday, 23 August 2017, I headed north from Grand Rapids. The Mackinac suspension bridge was opened in 1957 and links the lower and upper peninsulas of Michigan. I took this photograph from Mackinaw City, and it looks north across Lake Huron both at the Mackinac bridge and at the state’s Upper Peninsula (which is five miles / eight kilometres away). |
