An attempt on Mt Marcy, NY |
 This map shows the route I took in order to reach the foot of Mt Marcy. After spending Wednesday night, 26 October 2016, in Vermont, I caught a ferry across Lake Champlain to Essex in New York, then drove south on New York state route 22 as far as Westport, where I turned right and headed west as far as Elizabethtown, where I joined New York state route 9N and continued west on it until it linked up with New York state route 73, which I then took to within about three miles of Lake Placid, where I turned left onto Adirondack Loj Road. |
