Climbing Mt Mitchell |
 I reached the summit of Mt Mitchell at the 11:55 am on Thursday, 29 October 2015 (after an 85-minute hike), and – as I’m indicating in this photograph – it was the 33rd US state highpoint I’d either climbed or visited. (What the sign at the top doesn’t say is that 6,684 feet is 2,037 metres, and that Mt Mitchell is the 16th highest of the fifty US state highpoints.) |
