Climbing Mt Rogers |
 Finally, on Sunday, 8 November (a week after I climbed Mt Rogers), I visited the Virginia state capitol building in Richmond (the state’s capital city). Inspired, at least in part, by the Maison Carrée in Nîmes, which has been described as “one of the most beautiful and well-preserved temples of the Roman world”, Virginia’s capitol was also designed by Thomas Jefferson: quelle intelligence!
