The Northern Circuit |
 The Northern Circuit track starts only a few metres from the Skotel resort. This map at the beginning of the track shows where we went. Our first day’s walk was from Whakapapa to the Mangatepopo hut. On our second day we followed the Tongariro Crossing track as far as the Emerald Lakes before branching right (i.e., south-east) in order to go to the Oturere hut. Day three was from Oturere to the Waihohonu hut, and on our fourth and final day on the Northern Circuit we headed west, back to Whakapapa. |
