Climbing Mt Rainier |
 We rested briefly at the top of Disappointment Cleaver – at about 12,300 feet / 3,749 metres above sea-level (the height of Mt Cook, New Zealand’s highest mountain) – before we continued to climb towards a spot RMI guides call “High Break.” It was gradually getting lighter, and we reached High Break shortly before the sun rose over the eastern horizon at 5:12 am. |
