Climbing Mt Sealy, 1994 |
 After Gerry Kennedy and I climbed Mt Aylmer on Thursday morning, 31 March 1994, we went back back to Kelman Hut, which is near the head of the Tasman glacier. The weather forecast was not promising, so Gerry made a quick – but extremely well-judged – decision to leave the hut and fly south, where if needs be we’d be able to get out of the mountains under our own steam. On this map, I’ve ringed the area we flew from in blue, and the area we flew to (which is in the bottom left-hand corner of the map) in red. |
