… I also went to Argentina, and on 31 December 1994 reached the summit of Aconcagua (6,962 metres / 22,841 feet). It’s the highest mountain in Argentina, the highest mountain in South America, and the highest mountain in the world outside Asia. Mt Sealy is a whopping 4,335 metres / feet lower than Aconcagua – but climbing Mt Sealy (and, before that, Mt Aylmer) was, nevertheless, good training and highly relevant preparation for the climbing expeditions I went on later the same year.
