 Wales is one of the wettest parts of the United Kingdom, and – as Aidan and Rachel Brennan and I had found to our cost in October 1998 – “the top place for rain overall is Snowdonia”, which gets over three metres (or roughly 120 inches) of rain per year. Not surprisingly, therefore, there were some lovely patches of moss in damp spots beside the Miners’ Track. |
