Climbing Mt Taranaki


January 1987: Looking south-west and across at Fanthams Peak (a parasitic volcanic cone on the southern flanks of Mt Taranaki) and Syme Hut. Fanthams Peak (1,966 metres / 6,450 feet) has been described as “the most notable appendage to Mt Taranaki's otherwise perfectly symmetrical cone.”
