Climbing Mt Taranaki (Mt Egmont)

I’ve climbed Mt Taranaki (formerly also known as Mt Egmont) three times – once in the summer and I’ve done it twice as a winter climb. The summit of Mt Taranaki’s classic volcanic cone-shaped peak is 2,518 metres / 8,261 feet above sea-level, and it’s the second highest mountain in the North Island of New Zealand. This web-album describes my three climbs. To do so, I’ve used digitised versions of 35mm colour transparencies that I took in 1987, digitised versions of colour prints I took in 1995, and digital photographs that I and others took in 2008.
