 January 1987: An early morning view of the eastern slopes of Mt Taranaki, which I’d decided would be the most straight-forward route up the mountain. As can be seen from this photograph, with a little bit of zig-zagging, there was an almost completely snow-free route up the mountain as far as the foot the Shark’s Tooth. |
