Climbing Mt Taranaki |
 January 1987: This was the view from the crater floor looking across at the western side of the crater and up towards Mt Taranaki’s summit. Although the crater wall looked steep, the zig-zagging line of footprints in the snow indicated that there was an obvious (and, as it turned out, fairly easy) route to the top of the mountain. |
