 … and for ten minutes or so enjoyed a pleasant conversation with this man from St Louis. He and his two companions were on an overnight hike, making their way towards the Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park. I am exceptionally grateful to this hiker for a suggestion he made to me while we were hiking. He told me that as I was driving round the southern states of the USA, I really ought to try and travel on at least part of the Natchez Trace Parkway. I took his advice, and I’m extremely pleased I did so: the Natchez Trace Parkway is one of the hidden jewels in America’s crown. |
