Taum Sauk Mountain, Missouri

On 26 April 2014, I visited the summit of Taum Sauk Mountain, the highest point in Missouri. It’s 1,772 feet / 540 metres above sea-level and is the 41st highest of the fifty US state highpoints. After going to the Missouri state highpoint, I continued hiking along the Mina Sauk Falls Trail to the Mina Sauk Falls and then returned to the Taum Sauk Mountain trailhead via the Ozark Trail. The total length of the hike was about 3 miles / 5 kilometres. Taum Sauk was the 25th US state highpoint I'd climbed or visited, and – having done it – was thus at the halfway mark in my quest to climb / visit all fifty.
