 JOHANNESBURG: … I asked a group of the miners if I could take a photograph of them using my 35mm colour camera. Seven of them happily posed for me. Looking back at the photographs I took in 1962, I am amazed at the level of trust there was, in that I could drive out to a mine and get permission to wander around taking photographs of the site and of its miners. |
