Thirteen Formative Years

LIVING IN JOHANNESBURG – St-Martin’s-in-the-Veld: I didn’t sing in the choir, but when I was 13 years old, I attended confirmation classes and was confirmed by Ambrose Reeves, who was the Anglican bishop of Johannesburg from 1949 until the South African government deported him in 1960. I confess, however, that my religious phase lasted only about five years. Nevertheless, I love the language of the King James version of the Bible and am pleased to have had this copy of it for more than 60 years.
