Thirteen Formative Years |
 EDUCATION – St Stithians College: After corresponding with Warwick Tarboton for many years, I was thrilled to be able to visit him and his wife, Michele, in September 2019 in Kokanje (which is in South Africa’s northern-most province, Limpopo). Warwick is the doyen of South African ornithologists: he is a co-author of the Sasol guide to Birds of Southern Africa, and an outstanding bird photographer (some of his bird pictures can be seen on the poster immediately to the right of me). In this photograph, Warwick is standing in the middle of a trio of St Stithians’ Old Boys, because Al Moir – Bill’s older brother – is on the left. It was quite a reunion! |
