 HOLIDAYS – Game reserves: … later in the 1960s, white rhino were introduced into the park. In December 1969, while Heather and I were on our way from Britain to New Zealand, we stopped off in South Africa, and – among other things – spent several days in the Kruger National Park. A friend of a friend of Bobby and Lilian’s was a game ranger, and he took us on an off-road safari to see some of their new rhino. Being driven cross-country in a four-wheel drive vehicle and chasing after them was one of the more exciting things I’ve done in the park. |
