Thirteen Formative Years |
 HOLIDAYS – Drakensberg: In 1958, we went to Loteni for a holiday near the southern end of the Natal / Kwazulu Drakensberg mountain range. It was the first of multiple trips to the Drakensberg. This photograph is one of my favourite pictures of the many that Bobby took while we lived in South Africa. The huts in the Loteni Nature Reserve’s rest camp are just visible in the middle of the picture about one-third the way in from the right-hand edge of the photograph (above the cluster of cosmos flowers in the foreground), while the impressive cliffs of the Drakensberg escarpment dominate the horizon. |
