 APARTHEID – The origins of my interest in politics: A referendum was held in October 1960 on the question of whether or not South Africa should become a republic. The arguments on both sides of the question fascinated me, as did the various ways in which the “Yes” and “No” camps campaigned and tried to promote their points of view. |
