APARTHEID – Population and policies: This black-and-white photograph that I took in mid-1962 looking out over Soweto could have been used to illustrate the words of the well-known song that was composed by Malvina Reynolds and sung by Pete Seeger: “Little boxes on the hillside, Little boxes made of ticky tacky, Little boxes on the hillside, Little boxes all the same.”
