The Dingle Way, 2025 |
 Day 5 (Monday, 8 September 2025) – Scraggane Pier to Camp (An Cam): Our second detour led us past this attractive little country church. I was interested to see that it is not a Catholic church; it’s a Church of Ireland church. This led me to reflect on the fact that during the seven days we walked round the Dingle Peninsula, we were surprised by how few churches we saw. Given that Ireland was once a deeply religious country, I had – possibly naively – expected that the countryside in particular would have been dotted with churches, but this certainly wasn’t the case. |
