 … when he won at Monza, Jim Clark also won the 1963 world drivers’ championship. This picture shows Clark with a laurel-leaf wreath round his neck on a post-race victory lap with Lotus designer Colin Chapman seated behind him and holding the winner’s cup. When he won at Monza, Jim Clark was 27 years old – the same age as my older brother, Anthony. Four-and-a-half years later, Clark was killed in a crash in Germany. |
