Europe, 1963

After a year in the United States as an American Field Service (AFS) “exchange student”, I spent the last five months of 1963 in Europe. I was based with my older brother, Anthony, and his family in England, but I also travelled on the continent for two months when I drove my grandmother’s three-wheeled Heinkel bubble car almost 6,000 miles / 10,000 kilometres through more than ten countries.
